I remember that throughout my school years, what I missed most was theatre. On those rare occasions when, instead of listening to a talk about values or a historical event, we watched a theatrical performance, I was thrilled! Through the performances I present in schools together with my collaborators—musicians, puppeteers and other performers—I aim to transform the school into a ship and the children into rowers, setting off on a magical journey through the worlds of fairy tales, mythology and literature.
On the other hand, school visits to museums were, for most of us, among the least engaging experiences of our school years. Those memories made me wonder how I could use my knowledge and experience to transform museums into spaces where imagination becomes a vehicle for a magical journey through time.
To see knights riding past us on horseback. Philosophers debating in the marketplace. Pirates celebrating in their hideout.
My aim is for children to experience museums anew: as places of excitement, discovery and boundless imagination!
